A Real London Gentleman...

Godfrey Theophilus Quiddington was born in Hampstead, England in 1829, The third of four children born to Matthias Quiddington, part owner of the Eastern Railroad, and Emmeline Quiddington, a lady with modest claims to royal lineage. From an early age, Godfrey was drawn to magic, and at age 14 secured a place as an apprentice to the well-known conjurer and spiritualist Jamieson Brandt, AKA “The Warlock of Hounslow”. From Brandt and other London magicians prominent in the 1840's, Godfrey diligently learned and sharpened his skills, gradually gaining proficiency in the mystic arts. By his early twenties, Godfrey had firmly established his reputation in London as a performer, and was in high demand both domestically and abroad. He had the privilege of performing for the King and Queen of Spain, the Sultan of the Ottoman empire and on one occasion, Queen Victoria herself. Partially due to his considerable following, and partially due to the influence of his close friend, renowned painter Sir Frederick Leighton, Godfrey was inducted as a Knight of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 1874.

Following his knighthood, Sir Godfrey became a household name and was celebrated in the highest circles of London's elite. In 1881 he was commissioned by a prominent family to perform a most unique and challenging feat of magic. During the performance, the intended trick went horribly awry. Sir Godfrey was cast 140 years into the future, finding himself somewhere in Mayes County, Oklahoma. Faced with the daunting task of reestablishing his life and career, Sir Godfrey teamed with producer and manager, Cade Chilcoat, to bring his talent to the people once more...and Sir Godfrey Magic was born.

He then relocated to L.A., where he worked for many years as a freelance writer for T.V. animation, and is credited with over twenty produced episodes. He then moved to Oklahoma with his wife, Sarah, to pursue his dream of becoming a father. Says Chilcoat: "Raising kids of my own made me love all children, and want to give them happy memories that last a lifetime. I'm so glad I met Sir Godfrey so that I can make those dreams come true".

I really liked the jokes - and the bird!

These fooleries are most unbecoming a gentleman in polite society. He should leave off this nonsense at once.
